The oldest still serving synagogue in Europe, unique cemetery, and special collection of Judaica - This is Prague´s Josefov. Prague is often called "Jerusalem of the West", although a very limited percentage of the original buildings have been preserved. This collection of historic and cultural items in the Jewish Museum, as well as visit to the Old Jewish Cemetery and the Old-New Synagogue, are true highlights of Prague.
Tour description:
This is walking tour of a small area of Prague. We are going to visit the Jewish Museum of Prague, which is located in four of the preserved synagogues. Your entrance ticket to the Jewish Museum includes a visit to the famous Old Jewish Cemetery. We will also visit the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust in Pinkas Synagogue, which also houses the exhibition of children's drawings from the Terezin Ghetto. Depending upon your interests, we can visit the oldest active Synagogue in Europe, the Old-New Synagogue.
